Karakteristik Kain Batik Hasil Pewarnaan Mengguunakan Pewarna Alam Gambir (Uncaria Gambir Roxb)

Abstract


Batik merupakan produk kulturis dengan corak dan motif beragam yang semakin diminati. Pewarnaan pada kain batik melalui proses pelorodan dalam suasana panas dapat mempengaruhi warna dan ketahanan luntur warna kain. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melihat pengaruh proses pelorodan terhadap karakteristik kain hasil pewarnaan dengan gambir.  Penelitian dilakukan dengan pemakaian bahan pelorod soda abu dan campuran soda abu dengan kanji, penggunaan mordan CaO dan Al2(SO4)3 secara pasca mordanting pada kain katun dan sutera. Hasil penelitian optimal diperoleh dengan penggunaan bahan pelorod campuran soda abu dan kanji, jenis mordan CaO pada kain sutera dengan arah warna yang lebih tua, ketahanan luntur terhadap pencucian, gosokan dan sinar bernilai baik sampai sangat baik (4-5).
